The easy guide to propagating a Syngonium
Syngonium

Weather you have a white butterfly, a neon allusion or an albo, this is the easy step by step guide to propagating a Syngonium.

  1. Collect your Supplies

Only a few supplies are needed to get started:

  • A node
  • Sharp clean sheers
  • Rooting hormone, also available at most major hardware stores
  • Small pot with any standard potting soil

2. Locate the Node

Nodes circled in black, where to cut in yellow. Remember you only need one node!

The node is a small brown area on the plant stem from where a leaf emerges. Once you locate a node using the sharp clean sheers, make a cut about half an inch under the node. The cutting needs to have at least one node and two leaves for best growth.

3. Rooting Hormone Dip

RH is a mixture of plant hormones that stimulate the growth of a plant cutting. It’s also very easy to use! Dip the node in water and immediately dip directly into the container of RH a bit pass the node. Tap off the excess powder back in to the container.

4. Plant
