Easymode: Pothos

Pothos are one of the easiest houseplants. They come in many varieties, colors and shapes. This care guide will cover all the basics so you can find one you like and get growing!

Where its from

The common houseplant Epipremnum Aureum or Pothos, for those of us who don’t have a degree in Horticulture. Pothos is very broad plant family it can be found in China, South East Asia and even Australia. These varied beauties climb up the sides of trees, they love to vine and climb.

Water

Do you kinda…fail at watering plants, a bit erratic and infrequent? I GOT THE PLANT FOR YOU! Pothos make such great plants because they don’t care about your watering schedule, you can forget it, over water it, whatever this plant does not care. Ideally, its watered when the first two inches of soil is dry but don’t over stress.

Light

Pothos like bright indirect sunlight but also don’t mind low light and are often grown in bathrooms, offices or dark hallways for that very reason. Are you getting a theme here? Pothos are indifferent to your human struggles, they will grow.

Repotting

If you notice slower than expected growth or no new leafs for a while then it needs repotted other than that just enjoy the easy green. I don’t encourage this willy-nilly style with many (or any plants) but the Pothos will find a way to grow.

Don’t over Love it

Again for the 5th time this plant will grow despite you. You just remember to water it ever now and again and this plant will keep giving. I have three of these babies and I keep them all in different lighting situations and as you can see they are all fine.

Even if you think you’re a plant Jinx and cant keep anything alive, a Pothos is for you. What are you waiting for its time to get growing!
